Loulé, in Portugal’s Algarve region, is a municipality with 72,373 residents across 763.67 km². It includes the cities of Loulé and Quarteira. Inhabited since the Paleolithic, it later flourished with Mediterranean trade, including Phoenician and Carthaginian settlements.
