Canal New York is a skateboard company founded in 2006 by New Yorkers Esteban Jefferson and Johnny Ngan. The brand began as a wheels company and drew inspiration from Canal Street and the city’s history of design and counterculture. Based in New York City, Canal uses local skateboarding, friendships, and neighborhoods as creative sources. The company expanded into apparel, released skate videos, and has hosted pop up activations including appearances at Canal Street Market events.
