London-based Isle Skateboards, founded in 2013 by professional skaters Paul Shier, Nick Jensen, and creative director Chris Aylen, emerged as a fresh skateboarding company blending fine art and street skating. The trio sought to redefine the London skate scene with unique, artist-driven decks, incorporating abstract paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media into skateboarding graphics. Isle’s first series, 'Studio Series', received positive acclaim and marked a shift in skateboard design. The company gained recognition with creative videos. Isle’s innovative designs and skateboarding videos helped establish a distinct presence in the skate world, with collaborations and team excursions to global skate hubs. Isle continued to evolve over the years with notable projects and artistic collaborations, but in February 2025, Paul Shier announced the company’s closure, thanking supporters and marking the end of the 12-year journey.
