Alec Vann Chambers, 32, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on December 30, 2025. If you knew Alec, you already know he was one of a kind. Humble, kind and effortlessly cool, Alec was the type of person everyone loved—no ego, just pure heart. Born August 27, 1993, in San Diego, California, Alec was the youngest son of Joy L. North and the late Robert D. Chambers, and brother to Chandler Chambers. He grew up in the Sunset Park neighborhood in Wilmington, where he became a fixture at Greenfield Skatepark. No one skated that place with Alec’s style—smooth, powerful and completely his own. His skating was effortless and unforgettable. Alec’s crew was deep, but he was friends with everyone. You could always catch him out ripping with Will Smith, Matt Bennett, Griffin Faulkner, Coley Martin, Cam Schaeffer, Ryan Rullman, Christian Yepez, Jed Shooter, Paul Mehollin and the Another Skateshop and Post 22 crews. Sessions with Alec weren’t just about skating, they were about love, laughs and looking out for each other. Off the board, Alec was a gifted artist and a natural athlete—golf, baseball, roller skating, you name it. Creativity ran through everything he touched. Above all, Alec was an incredible son, brother and friend. He ended every goodbye with, I love you, and meant it every time. Rest easy, Alec. You’re missed more than words can say.
