Gary Scott Davis, aka GSD, is a legendary figure in skateboarding, known for his groundbreaking contributions to street skating. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, GSD moved to California in 1982, where he became one of the first pro skaters to be sponsored primarily for street skating. He is often credited with inventing the Boneless One, a move that revolutionized skateboarding, although there is some debate over its origins. In addition to his skating, GSD made a huge impact on skate culture through his zine "Skate Fate", which he published from 1981 to 1991. The zine captured the raw energy of the skate scene and has since been compiled into a 320-page book. Known for his eccentric lifestyle, GSD was a key figure in the growth of "TransWorld Skateboarding" and later worked with major skate brands. After retiring from professional skating in 1989, GSD continued to influence the culture through music with his band Custom Floor and other creative projects. His legacy remains significant in skateboarding history.
