Elijah Berle, a professional skateboarder and passionate surfer, was born and raised in Santa Monica, California. Growing up in a modest household in a neighborhood of affluent residents, Berle was introduced to skateboarding at the young age of three by his mother, an early skateboarder herself. His childhood was marked by a deep connection to action sports, with skateboarding and surfing becoming central to his life (Olson, 2022). By age five, he was already practicing tricks like kickflips and ollies, and by ten, he had developed a love for surfing, spending summers at surf camps in Malibu and Santa Monica (Olson, 2022).
As a teenager, Berle became fully immersed in the skateboarding scene. He formed a crew and skated across Los Angeles, from Venice to the Valley. At 12, he began filming tricks and pursuing sponsorships, eventually landing a deal with Foundation Skateboards after a near-rejection (Olson, 2022). His breakthrough moment came when he joined Vans, where he later released his signature model shoes, solidifying his status in the skateboarding world (Thorburn). Known for his technical style and innovative video parts, Berle has also ventured into other creative projects, like board graphics, while balancing his love for surfing (Thorburn).
