Kevin "Spanky" Long, born on August 6, 1984, in Oak Park, California, is a professional skateboarder who rose to fame with his unique technical skills and smooth style. Growing up in Agoura Hills, he was introduced to skateboarding at a young age by his older brother and local skater JT Aultz. Long began his journey in the skateboarding world by skating with neighborhood friends, including future pros like Mikey Taylor and Van Wastell. This early exposure to talented skaters in Southern California shaped his skills and set him on a path to professional skateboarding.
Spanky’s career took off when he joined the City Stars skate team before making a name for himself with Baker Skateboards. Throughout the 2000s, he gained recognition for his contributions to video parts, including notable segments in "This Is Skateboarding" and "Baker 3". His career, however, faced challenges when personal struggles and a severe burn injury temporarily sidelined him. Despite these setbacks, Spanky made a remarkable comeback by focusing on sobriety and health, leading to a successful resurgence in skateboarding.
In recent years, Spanky has continued to thrive in skateboarding, contributing to the creative direction at Baker, where he oversees graphic designs. His passion for skateboarding remains strong, but he also balances fatherhood and family life after becoming a father in 2020. Spanky’s journey through personal and professional challenges, alongside his love for skateboarding and art, makes him a respected and influential figure in the skateboarding community.
