Hometown: Tarzana, California, USA Stance: Goofy Paul Rodriguez, also known as P-Rod, is a professional skateboarder from Tarzana, California, born on December 31, 1984. He is the son of comedian Paul Rodriguez but was drawn early to skateboarding rather than entertainment. At age 12, he received his first skateboard and quickly developed a deep passion for the sport. Rodriguez began his career at 14, skating for a local shop before joining City Stars, where he appeared in the video 'Street Cinema'. He turned pro in 2002 with Girl Skateboards, helped by Eric Koston, one of his mentors. Later, he joined Plan B and released acclaimed parts such as 'Me, Myself, and I', establishing his reputation as a top-tier technical skater. His skating style, consistency, and video parts earned him multiple X-Games medals and widespread respect in the skateboarding community. Rodriguez is also a successful entrepreneur. In 2008, he launched Primitive, a skateboarding brand that began as a shop and later evolved into a full board company. Primitive has since grown into a major force in skateboarding, known for its strong team and innovative design. Rodriguez also collaborated with Nike SB, releasing ten signature shoes, a rare achievement in skateboarding footwear history. Though he’s stepped back from contest skating, including Street League, Rodriguez remains active in the scene. He continues to film street parts, mentor younger skaters, and stay involved with Primitive’s direction. With over 20 years in the industry, Paul Rodriguez is a significant figure in modern skateboarding, contributing as both an athlete and a business leader.
